Meet Frank D. Murphy
Frank D. Murphy, host of Athletes With Purpose Television Show and the author of The Man Behind the Helmet; is a former NFL, UFL, and CFL Player. He began his career with the Chicago Bears and went on to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, and Houston Texans. He has also played for the Florida Tuskers and the Toronto Argonauts. Frank headed full speed down a wrong path causing him to have to overcome numerous hindrances to any hope of a successful future, including hanging with the wrong crowd, drug dealing, and incarceration. Though he won many awards during his high school and college football careers (All-American; All-State; Player of the Year; named to the National Junior College Athletic Association All- American first team and National Player of the Year; maintaining to date three Powercat Strength Records: 4.22 40 yard dash, 42” vertical jump, 42.04 300 yard shuttle; and nominated into the National Junior College Hall of Fame in 2008), Frank came exceptionally close, on more than one occasion, to ruining his opportunity to live out his lifelong dream of playing professional football.
Today, Frank D. Murphy, Jr. is a Life Coach to athletes at every level. He holds the Key to the City for community and mentor work in Jacksonville and Callahan, FL. He is a large supporter of programs that educate and empower people to realize their dreams and live their best lives. Through youth camps, pro camps, athlete panels, workshops, toy drives, and a variety of community-based initiatives, he has dedicated himself to sharing life lessons and motivating and impacting others to do their best.
