Frank D Murphy Programs

This is the core of our work - seminars and conferences, face-to-face and digital mentoring, developing relationships in underserved and under resourced schools, community centers, foster homes, juvenile detention centers and jails. We meet at-risk youth and their families where they are, we teach them to hope again and find their God-given purpose and then we help them develop the skills and habits necessary for them to accomplish their purpose.

Why it Works!

The program fills important gaps:
Skills & information parents and families used to teach
• Misinformation learned from peers
• Challenges beliefs and attitudes that many sources of media glorify

Brain Science informs our work of engaging and motivating youth so we can ensure our program format and content align with best practice standards.

Frank’s voice as an NFL player and successful businessman gives the program credibility and relatability in the eyes of youth. His presentation style and all components of the program are well informed and research-based, but Frank intentionally leaves any sophisticated pretense or academic jargon behind, preferring instead to engage youth using simple wisdom, compellingly wrapped in well-told stories.
Key Themes

Hope

Frank’s response to his own mistakes provides hope for youth who may believe that there is no changing their life’s trajectory

Potential

Finding his identity allows him to believe in his own potential and create a roadmap for change, youth can envision their own goals and learn how daily habits matter

Life Skills

Lasting change isn’t incremental, as Frank’s journey takes him two steps forward and five steps back, youth learn that life skills matter and develop along with Frank

Relationships

The relational approach Frank uses builds quick connections, his willingness to teach by sharing his own story is disarming, his authentic interactions with youth separate him

Grit

Over the program, Frank’s grit begins to become theirs, life skills gaps begin to fill in, and sparks of motivation emerge as youth lean into their goals
